Closure Announcement
In light of the impending Hurricane Milton theme parks, Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, and SeaWorld have made the difficult decision to temporarily close their theme parks. This closure takes effect today, with Universal Orlando and SeaWorld also suspending operations on Thursday.
Initial Plans and Changes
Previously, Disney had announced its intention to remain open, with plans to only close its campgrounds and rental cabins. However, as the forecast for Hurricane Milton worsened, the safety of guests and staff took precedence, leading to the park’s full closure. This decision aligns with the actions of several other theme parks in the area, which have also opted to close ahead of the storm to ensure the wellbeing of all.
Safety First
As Hurricane Milton approaches, the closures are a proactive measure taken by the theme parks. The parks encourage guests to stay informed through official channels and are advising those already on property to follow safety protocols. As the situation evolves, updates regarding the reopening of the parks will be provided through the parks’ respective websites and social media channels.
